Second volume in the Sami series, “Sami the Magic Bear: No To Bullying!” is a story of the magical teddy bear’s intervention in the life of Thomas, a nine year old boy who is experiencing ridicule and bullying. Thomas is a shy, insecure child who is picked on by his schoolmates. Sometimes it seems he has no friends. Still, Thomas is a brilliant student, first in French and mathematics. Because his teacher likes him, some other boys gang up on him to pick on him later. Victor, the lead bully, pushes him down, hurts him, and takes his red cap, a treasured birthday present. Thomas is sad, angry, and hurt. Still he cannot explain his hurt face and lost cap to his mother later when she questions him. But because it is his birthday, his grandparents are visiting, and they give him a very special gift. It is Sami, the magic teddy bear. Although Thomas can’t believe it at first, he finally confides in Sami when the bear talks to him after hearing him crying about his problems being bullied. Sami listens and encourages Thomas to take action and talk to the Dean at school about what has been happening. A very creative suggestion for a solution by Sami is accepted by Mr. Scott, the Dean. He tells Victor, the leader of the bullies, that he needs to change his habits, and that he is to begin coaching Thomas in basketball and Thomas will begin coaching Victor in French and mathematics. This amazing idea works wonderfully well and the two boys become friends! Exciting color illustrations show Sami, Victor and Thomas in this inviting story about a way to turn bullying around. Kids will get the message of caring concern and creative problem solving in “Sami the Magic Bear: No To Bullying!”

Sami the Magic Bear Says “No to Bullying”; Critics Say This Game-Changing Children’s Book Is “Wonderful”, “Heart-Warming” and “Perfect”

‘SAMI THE MAGIC BEAR – No To Bullying!’ by Murielle Bourdon started life as a compelling idea for tackling the current global bullying epidemic. After seeing huge success and being translated into nine languages, critics are now coming out in force to support this lovable bear’s pertinent message. From Amazon to Readers’ Favorite – Sami is the most popular bear of the moment!

Saint-Hubert, QC — (ReleaseWire) — 05/04/2015 — In 2014, Canada’s Murielle Bourdon took a huge gamble, plowing her time and finances into a unique new children’s book – all out of her passion to help children combat bullying. While many authors are left disappointed, Bourdon’s ‘SAMI THE MAGIC BEAR – No To Bullying!’ has become a roaring success.

Not only has global demand for the book seen it be translated into English, French, Japanese, Italian, German, Portuguese, Spanish, Hindi and Arabic – but critics from all four corners have praised the book beyond Bourdon’s wildest expectations.

It’s easy to see why. Sami is no ordinary bear, and his message could just be life-saving.

Book Synopsis:

SAMI, the magical teddy bear comes to the aid of children who feel alone and who are facing troubling events that occur in the course of their lives. Today, SAMI intervenes in the life of Thomas facing ridicule and bullying and offers him support and helps him to get through these difficult times.

“I’m steadfastly passionate about child welfare, and saw that parents and teachers were at a loss for how to speak directly to children’s hearts when it came to bullying,” explains Bourdon. “After much agonizing I decided a children’s book would be the best way to help kids recognize the signs of bullying and teach them how to prevent becoming a victim. However, its success was going to be a big gamble on my part.”

The gamble has more than paid off. Michelle Robertson for Readers’ Favorite recently commented, “The author does a fantastic job of creating a friend and a solution to the bullying problem. The book is unique, the dialog and text comprehensible, and the characters highly relatable to young readers. I loved this book. I believe every parent, teacher, guardian and young reader should read this book to help them in any bullying scenario they may come across in their future, whether that be related to themselves or someone else.”

Jack Magnus adds, “Bourdon’s magic bear offers kids an alternative to being a tattletale that can actually improve the lives of both the tormented kid and his tormentor. I was quite impressed with the creative and practical solution Thomas offers to the Dean of his school and think this book could open the door for some useful adult/kid discussions both at home and in school. Sami the Magic Bear – No To Bullying! is most highly recommended.”

Emily-Jane Hills writes, “Murielle Bourdon has created a wonderful, heartwarming story that will help those understand the problem associated with schoolyard bullies. There is a good lesson for everyone to learn in this story, and that is to treat everyone equally and with respect.”

With demand for the volume rapidly increasing, interested readers are urged to purchase their copies without delay.

Thomas is a very smart student at his school. He excels in Math and French, but because of this he is called “teacher’s pet” and “Genius” by the basketball team captain, Victor, and his friends. After school one day, coincidentally on his birthday, he runs into Victor and his friends and gets bullied verbally and physically. He does not tell his parents or grandparents when he gets home, but instead chooses to enjoy the birthday celebration they all planned for him. After all, he could use all the love he can get. But an unexpected thing happened when he started to worry and cry about having to go back to school and face Victor and his friends. The gift from his grandparents, a teddy bear named Sami, comes alive and offers Thomas some advice on how to stop his bullying problem. What does Sami the teddy bear say to Thomas? Will it work? Will he ever be happy and have friends at school without being bullied?

Sami the Magic Bear – No To Bullying, written and illustrated by Murielle Bourdon, is a delightful children’s educational story. It introduces young readers to the concepts of bullying, self confidence, nervousness, self doubt, forgiveness, compromise, acceptance, and communication. Bullying is a serious issue in today’s society and is surprisingly not talked about often enough within school systems or within individual households. Serious consequences occur when children who are being bullied keep that burden to themselves. Most often they are afraid of what the person doing the bullying will do to them if they tell someone else, and also might be ashamed to admit that they are being bullied. Most times, a young child needs just one friend to encourage them to create a solution to their bullying problem.

The author does a fantastic job of creating a friend and a solution to the bullying problem. The book is unique, the dialog and text comprehensible, and the characters highly relatable to young readers. I loved this book. I believe every parent, teacher, guardian and young reader should read this book to help them in any bullying scenario they may come across in their future, whether that be related to themselves or someone else.

Parents, Teachers – Listen Up! Sami the Magic Bear Has Arrived, and He’s Anti-Bullying’s Lovable Secret Weapon

‘SAMI THE MAGIC BEAR – No To Bullying!’ by Murielle Bourdon is far from just another children’s book; it’s a powerful tool that any school or home can utilize in the ongoing fight against bullying. Sami uses his magic powers to help those who are in need, and he’s the perfect role model for any child looking to develop good moral character. Already hailed “A great book for small children” by one critic – don’t delay, call on Sami today!

Saint-Hubert, QC — (ReleaseWire) — 04/20/2015 — Every parent and teacher has witnessed the harrowing reality of a child who has finally plucked up the courage to admit they’re being bullied, often far later than they should have. But there’s a vital disconnect; these same adults are often at a loss for how to make children aware of bullying and its toxic effects.
Canada’s Murielle Bourdon is passionate about helping children in need. Fusing her creative flair and imagination, she has recently launched a highly-engaging new volume staring Sami. Sami is a magic bear, and he says a big fat “No To Bullying!”.

Bourdon’s creation has since travelled the world to be translated into English, French, Japanese, Italian, German, Portuguese, Spanish, Hindi and Arabic.

“We are currently in the middle of a global marketing campaign, and right now we are pushing the fact that the book is the perfect tool for both homes and schools, in the fight against bullying,” explains Bourdon. “It’s chock-full of educational value through a story that, to kids, will just feel like they’re having fun. It could just change their lives.”

Continuing, “Most tools out there are presented in an overly-serious manner, leaving children feeling as if they’re being patronized or lectured to. Sami wraps his lessons up into good traditional fun – and will have children not only becoming aware of bullying’s detriments, but also what to do if someone close to them has become a victim.”

Readers are instantly seeing the book’s value. For example, one mom comments, “A great book for small children, beautifully illustrated! Bullying is a necessary topic to discuss with your kids and it is something I always talk about with my son – what to do when being bullied, and how important it is NOT to bully.”

Utilize the book today – Sami is raring to go!

However, there’s no catch-all international campaign to help children recognize the signs of bullying and treat it at the root cause. But that’s until now…

Surprisingly, the world’s newest and most powerful tool for fighting back exists in the world of literature – through a lovable bear named Sami. Sami’s second volume, ‘No To Bullying!’, is already spreading far and wide from its native Canada, with hugely-impressive results.

In Enchanting New Children’s Book, Sami the Magic Bear Says “No to Bullying”; Helping Young Readers Fight Back Against Current Epidemic

In Murielle Bourdon’s ‘SAMI THE MAGIC BEAR – No To Bullying!’, Sami comes to the aid of a young boy who is suffering the harsh effects of bullying at his school. Through a story that is entertaining, uplifting yet inherently serious, young readers will not only learn how to spot bullying and its social, physical and mental detriments – but also find the empowerment they need to avoid becoming one of the statistics.

Saint-Hubert, QC — (ReleaseWire) — 03/09/2015 — There’s no way to sugarcoat it, bullying has become a fierce epidemic in modern schools and turns the lives of millions of children into a misery. Most victims find it hard to speak out and, acutely aware of young minds and their thirst for stories, one Canadian author has chosen a novel way to reach out to them.

‘No to Bullying’ is the latest volume in Murielle Bourdon’s ‘Sami the Magic Bear’ series. The volume’s premise is bold and clear-cut: to teach children what bullying really is, how it can plight their lives and what they can do to help friends who may be suffering.

Synopsis:

SAMI, the magical teddy bear comes to the aid of children who feel alone and who are facing troubling events that occur in the course of their lives. Today, SAMI intervenes in the life of Thomas facing ridicule and bullying and offers him support and helps him to get through these difficult times.

“The story’s bottom line is a powerful moral of friendship, love and support; forces that can transcend bullying and bring any child’s life back on track,” explains the author. “It is vital that children learn to recognize the social, physical and psychological effect that are part and parcel of bullying. Preaching directly to children doesn’t work, so I opted for an enchanting story with a happy ending!”

Continuing, “I’m now dedicated to writing and illustrating children’s books, a far cry from the decade and a half I spent as a secretary. After going back to school as an adult, I’ve turned my career around into not only something I’m passionate about, but something that I know can change the lives of children around the world.”

Bourdon’s work is so popular that she has had it translated into over half a dozen world languages.

“It’s important that this message is spread as far and wide as possible, as there’s global demand to fight the currently bullying problem. To that end, my work has been translated and published in French, English, Spanish, Italian, German, Portugese, Hindi, Japanese and Polish. More languages are in the pipeline, because this book has boundless potential,” she adds.
